OTHER GREAT TOYS FROM THE 1960's
IDEAL CAPTAIN ACTION
Captain Action was sold by Ideal toys. It was their superhero answer to GI Joe. Interestingly, the idea for CA came to them from Stanley Weston, the salesman who first brought the idea for a 12" soldier figure to Hasbro. Captain Action sets include Spiderman, Superman, Batman, the Green Hornet, The Phantom, Flash Gordon, The Lone Ranger and Tonto, Sgt. Fury, and Aquaman. There is also Action Boy with sets for Robin, Aqualad, and Superboy. Hard to find sets include the Dr. Evil deluxe set along with carry cases and the Silver Streak vehicle.
